I recently worked with Madeleine Shaw furnishing 6 rooms in her new house. I can confirm, she definitely has the GLOW, is even more gorgeous in real life, always smiling and as cool as a cucumber.
For this front room I wanted to create a warm space for her to relax and unwind in that had more structure than the family TV Room. The design needed to be conscious and considered by using earthy, heartfelt, sustainable materials and textures. A room conducive for easy entertaining especially while staying in becomes the new going out, best do it in style!
Mixing natural textures like reclaimed wood and bleached wood, marble and brass, jute and raffia is key to bringing an effortless vibe to the space. The concept is both classic but modern, fun but timeless.
The above layout is grounded by the most beautiful hand woven artisanal rug commissioned with Coral & Hive, all 100% bespoke and made to order. I love starting with the rug and building up from there, making sure its generous in size, anchoring all of the furniture.
